Black Panther trailer hit 89M views in its first 24 hours online

Collection I Like To Watch

Marvel released its first teaser trailer for 2018's Black Panther, and fans are so thirsty for it.

But first, to help get those fans there, Marvel dropped this commanding poster for the February 2018 release of Black Panther

Then it took the hype and amped it even higher by releasing the first teaser trailer during Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

That strategy paid off: The Black Panther teaser trailer generated a staggering 89 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours of being online, according to the Hollywood Reporter?

It's easy to see why. Just look at it.

People are already doing fanart. Good fanart. From a TEASER TRAILER.

But at least one fan had this question, and we're betting he's not alone:

Watch the trailer here:

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler, with a screenplay co-written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, who is best known for his work on American Crime Story. It won't hit theaters until February 2018, so you might not want to start camping out at your local theater just yet.

Besides starring Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther, the truly stellar cast also includes Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis Not Doing MoCap Work.

And since you know this far in advance, you can definitely ask your boss about taking the day off work.

Be the first to like it!
