Indian cinema's versatile actor

#AmitabhBachchan made his debut in Indian cinema with Saat Hindustani, a 1969 drama directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas that won him the National Award for Best Newcomer.

Bachchan has sung, appeared in music videos and documentaries and hosted television shows, but what he is loved and respected the most for is his stellar performances in films. 

He first rose to fame with the 1971 drama #Anand in which he played a young doctor, Bhasker Banerji.

Two years later, his lead role as a police officer in the action-thriller Zanjeer established him as Bollywood's bankable actor and won him the moniker of 'angry young man' which ha stuck.
