Watch Jay-Z show you why the US drug war is an epic fail

Collection Short Films

We all know the legal marijuana industry is booming everywhere it's legal. Colorado's weed tax revenues alone are enough to make other cash-strapped states take notice.

That's why artist Molly Crabapple and Jay-Z teamed up to create Epic Fail, a four-minute animated film asking why a bunch of white investors are getting rich off of the same drugs that have put African-American and Latinx people in US jails in record numbers.

African-Americans comprise about 13 percent of the US population, yet are a full 31 percent of arrests for violations of drug laws. Facts continually show that usage and sale of drugs in African-American communities is on par with white communities. There are more than a few obvious flaws in the system.
