Keto Fast Food in 10 Questions

Multiple questions need to be answered in this thread;

1. Is keto fast food healthy?

Well, traditional fast food is seldom good for your health! However, some fast food like fried wings actually passes the Keto test since they are high fat, low carb, and moderate/high protein. Does being Keto friendly makes them healthy? I personally don't think so.

2. How many carbs should you eat while on Keto?

The exact gram of carbs is different for everyone, but it is approximately 10-15% of all calorie intake in the ketogenic diet.

3. Drinking Alcohol and Keto diet?

Alcohol = Sugar = Carbs so... No alcohol. If you absolutely want to drink refer to the previous question and keep the calories from alcohol under %15 of your total calories.

4. How much weight can you lose on Keto?

For all diets, the formula is the same. If calorie spending is higher than calorie intake, you lose weight. Simple as that. Keto isn't different. But 1-2 pounds (0.5-1 kg) per week is a healthy range to aim for.

5. What fruits can you eat with the Keto diet?

Again it is the carbs that are going to cause a problem. Therefore there are only limited low carb or high-fat fruits you can eat while on a keto diet such as;

• Raspberries

• Strawberries

• Blueberries

• Avocado

• Coconut

6. What is keto flu?

Keto flu is flu-like symptoms experienced by some people when they first start the diet. Fatigue, sluggishness, lack of motivation and focus are the body's reaction to low carbohydrate intake.

7. What about kidney stones on a keto diet?

Kidney stone formation risk is lower on Keto compared to high protein diets. But you should always ask a doctor if Keto is the right diet for you and learn more about the risks.

8. Keto diet and cholesterol levels?

Studies show that Keto increases (healthy) HDL cholesterol while decreasing (harmful) LDL cholesterol more than high carb, low-fat diets. Despite these studies, I would still stick to healthy fats such as olive and fish oils though. Also, don't listen to people online. Ask your doctor!

9. How much protein should you take while on Keto?

On average 20-25% of your calories should come from protein while on the Keto.

10. Can the keto diet reverse type 2 diabetes?

Due to low but stable glucose levels, Ketogenic diet helps some Type 2 diabetes patients. Low carb, high-fat foods metabolize slowly and prevent spikes in glucose levels.
