The wildfires ravaging through California have forced hundreds of thousands of residents to flee, including some celebrities whose homes have been destroyed by the fires.

The death toll has risen to 31, with more than 200 people still missing, officials have said.

Six more people were confirmed killed in the Camp Fire in the north of the state, taking the toll there to 29. In the south, the Woolsey Fire has claimed two lives as it damaged beach resorts, including Malibu, according to the BBC and CNN.

Celebrities Neil Young, Robin Thicke, Gerard Butler, and Miley Cyrus are among those whose houses were destroyed by the Woolsey fire burning north of Los Angeles in Southern California, according to the entertainers' respective online posts.

Butler posted a photo on Twitter of the charred remains of his Malibu home and thanked firefighters for their bravery.
