Several key supporters of President Donald Trump, prominent commentators, and celebrities have questioned the veracity of the news that explosive devices had been mailed to certain well-known Democrats and critics of Trump. These supporters of the President have said the bombs were not actually part of a plot to harm Democrats, but were a “false flag” operation conducted by leftists to portray conservatives as violent radicals ahead of the elections next month. The bombs were supposedly sent to Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and other leading Democrats.
Political cartoonist Ben Garrison has said: “The envelope bombs sent to select Democrats are an obvious false flag.
“The Deep State is pulling out all stops to gain sympathy and votes for their team. This is a pathetic means of doing it. The envelopes didn’t seem to have postmarks. If they were hand-delivered, then there should be video of the perpetrators. Especially on Hillary’s property. She has more video surveillance than a drug lord.
“The Democrats are desperate … I wouldn’t be surprised if we see another fake news event ahead of the election. Will they take to the next level and actually kill some innocent to achieve power? I hope not.”
Popular talk radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested that the attempted bombings were set up by Democrats, saying they would serve a political “purpose.”
“It’s happening in October,” Limbaugh said. “There’s a reason for this.”
Similarly, another radio host, Michael Savage, said “it’s a high probability that the whole thing is set up as a false flag to gain sympathy for the Democrats... and to get our minds off the hordes of illegal aliens approaching our southern border.”
Even movie actor James Woods said it was an “obvious political stunt.”
The bomb scare apparently targeted at Democrats has taken on the tinge of fake news.
