Twitter Not To Ban InfoWars And Alex Jones

The CEO of Twitter says it will not ban InfoWars or its founder Alex Jones because their accounts do not violate the social media platform's rules.

A number of tech giants, including YouTube and Facebook, deleted the right-wing conspiracy theorist's content this week, citing hate speech.

Jones has accused the platforms of unfair censorship of his accounts.

The radio host is best known for spreading unsubstantiated allegations about tragic events, including 9/11.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has doubled down on defending his company's decision not to kick Jones off its platform, report CNN and the BBC.

"We didn't suspend Alex Jones or Infowars yesterday," Dorsey tweeted Tuesday. "We know that's hard for many but the reason is simple: he hasn't violated our rules. We'll enforce if he does. And we'll continue to promote a healthy conversational environment by ensuring tweets aren't artificially amplified."

Dorsey said Twitter would hold Jones to the same standard as it does every account.

"Truth is we've been terrible at explaining our decisions in the past. We're fixing that," he said.
