Janet Jackson Welcomes Baby Boy, Eissa Al Mana

Congratulations and don’t forget to send baby gifts and well wishes to Janet Jackson, 50, and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, 42! The singer’s rep told People magazine today that the couple are, “Thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world. Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”

No word yet on how much Eissa weighs or where he was delivered.

Last April, Jackson announced to the world via Twitter that she was going to postpone the rest of her Unbreakable World Tour. In her video release to her fans, Jackson stated, "I wanted you to be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can, try to understand that it is important that I do this now. I have to rest up — doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

The following month it was confirmed that Jackson was pregnant, just shy of her 50th birthday. While she laid low throughout most of her pregnancy, the singer shared a photo of her baby bump with People magazine in October.

Jackson married her husband, a businessman from Qatar, in 2012. As a couple, they have kept a low profile, with Jackson rarely posting photos of them on her Instagram account.

With the release of “Unbreakable” in 2015, Jackson became the third artist in history to have a number one album in consecutive decades, according to Billboard. Among female artists, Jackson ranks third behind Barbra Streisand and Madonna in the category of number one albums.

Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar & Radiohead Headline Coachella

Grab your festival gear ‘cause Coachella’s 2017 lineup has been announced. Over two weekends this spring — April 14-16, and April 21-23, 2017 — the Coachella Music and Arts Festival is going to sing with the sounds of Beyoncé, Radiohead, Richie Hawtins, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, New Order, Two Door Cinema Club, Loco Dice, Maya Jane Coles, Car Seat Headrest and more!

This may very well be Coachella’s best lineup in years. It feels especially appropriate given the past year, perhaps, for Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead to share the distinction of headlining Coachella in 2017.

Of the three headliners, that Beyonce was selected may not seem like an especially surprising move, but she’ll be the festival’s first female solo headliner in almost 10 years and someone who has emerged as a progressive champion. Kendrick Lamar, on the other hand, has long used music as a political platform — using his songs to protest inequality and to encourage people to keep their spirits up. And Radiohead, even more so, has long blurred the lines between political messages — sometimes in the form of radicalism — and music.

Not only did they land big (contemporary) names to headline the show, but this year’s festival will also feature Lorde’s first performance in three years and The Avalances’s first performance in a decade.

Passes go on sale tomorrow at 11 a.m. PST. There are two types of general admission passes: $399 for the general admission pass, which includes access to the venue and parking for all three days, and $474 for the general admission plus shuttle pass, which allows passholders to ride from any shuttle stop to and from the festival. VIP passes go for $899, and include entrance to venue, parking lots and two VIP areas for all three days. VIP parking is sold separately for $150 and is open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. — sorry, no overnight parking or camping there.

Roughing it? The tent and car camping tickets are both $113, but you’ll still need a valid festival pass to enjoy the festivities. Camping companion parking is $60 per spot.

When you visit Coachella.com, you’ll find everything from trip planning tips to camping guides, and of course, ticket purchase directions. Remember, passes go on sale on January 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. PST.
