An inexpensive and usually uncomplicated outing I can manage with the #kids is a trip to our local library. There is the excitement of getting ready to go and the freedom to roam a comfortable place. The oldest manages to find another book in the series she enjoys, the #Kindergartener finds books on dinosaurs and the #preschooler makes her way to the tot-sized computer desks. I would be too distracted to find anything for myself, so I pick up the books the librarians pulled for me the night before when I used the online service to place them on hold. After the children are dreaming for the night, I settle into the nook of the sofa and open the pages to a world unknown to me. I read about suffragists, Nobel peace prize winners and aneurism survivors. The task of caring for the needs of #youngchildren all day is challenging, so as I read about the trials others have faced I begin to see the world in a new way and find sympathy for their struggles.
