CAMEMBERT CHEESE BOX

Carefully kept for many, many years — empty, in an out of the way place, just hanging out there. Finds new purpose holding given earrings at the ready on my table top. Paper-thin balsa box, covered with Krylon: Dark Bronze Hammered Dual Paint + Primer Spray Paint, a dusting of Krylon: Bronze Blaze Glitter Blast and topped with computer chip.

Camembert cheese is a fairly delicate product. In the late 19th century, the invention of the emblematic balsa wood box sealed the fate of this delight as one of France's favorites. This special box, which is still used today, protects the cheese but also allows it to breath.
