The Fresh Off The Boat star is on the rise. Constance Wu shot to fame last year when the hit TV series #FreshOffTheBoat, based loosely on celebrity chef Eddie Huang's #memoir about his immigrant Taiwanese family, flew onto everyone's radar with all its controversies and highlights.
Wu has been consistently outspoken about Hollywood's diversity problems, from stereotyped casting to #whitewashing to being limited to a sidekick role.
In an interview Wu said: “I'd rather lose all my stuff than lose myself...because I've done that before, and that feels way worse.”

Constance Wu was also part of the viral fan campaign, #StarringConstanceWu, that highlighted that lack of Asian American actors in leading roles, from your run-of-the-mill romcoms to action movies.
Wu is also an active voice on #Twitter, using her platform to call out a range of political issues from tighter gun control measures to white-washed Hollywood casting.
