The United Arab Emirates national airline, Etihad Airways, has become the first official fashion airline.
Starting with Sydney Fashion Week on May 15 it will sponsor 17 of the WME/IMG fashion events around the world, including fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Berlin.
The airline wants to be the default option for people going to fashion weeks and to attract everyone who wants a piece of that world. The airline has a lot of ideas about how to make this happen.
In order to demonstrate what Etihad can bring to the catwalk, the airways became a co-sponsor of the debut Oscar de la Renta show at Australian Fashion Week next month.
