Laurie Hernandez who won gold at Rio2016 this summer with TeamUSA gymnastics was back showing off her skills last night as she threw possibly the most acrobatic pitch in MLB history.
A native of NewJersey Hernandez was selected to toss the first pitch for the Mets before their game with the Nationals.
Laurie upped the ante on normal (boring) pitches by doing an aerial cartwheel while clutching a baseball then tossing the ball over home plate to the awaiting catcher. While it's a safe bet this technique wont catch on with the MajorLeague any time soon, she definitely scored a 10 for style!

Hernandez took home an individual silver this summer for her routine on the balance beam, and was part of the gold medal winning team event. Laurie was the youngest gymnast on the team at just 15 and looks to have an extremely bright career ahead of her as she is set to star on the next season of Dancing With the Stars DWTS!
