From TV to film, it seems like Mahershala Ali has been everywhere in the past few years. From shows as ubiqitous as Law & Order to HBO's Treme to even The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1 & 2, his is a face that has been getting serious screen time.
Complex's Erik Abriss sat down with Ali to talk about his 2016 releases Luke Cage and Free State of Jones, as well as why there's no reason people of color shouldn't be standing proud in the superhero genre.
Ali got to the heart of the matter:
115116type117text118contents119I’m so happy knowing 16 is even in production and that Ryan Coogler is involved. All the actors are going to be terrific in it. I’m excited to see that there are people of color
Ali also told Abriss about the importance of music and how it's used in Luke Cage, and all we can say is: the anticipation is only growing.
