My predictions on Season 3 of Power are spot on.

Collection I Like To Watch

Starz Original series Power has won a lot of fans (and hearts!) by bringing us inside the world of James “Ghost” St Patrick- a successful business man who has a full on drug empire. Talk about leading a double life! I guess that’s better than the triple life he was leading in the first two seasons.

Season 3 premiered on July 17th and even though I was away on a business trip in Ohio, that night in my hotel room, you would have found me frantically in my room downloading the DirectV app so that I could find out the latest going down with Jamie, Angela, Tommy and Tasha in real time. Because I’m THAT hooked on the show.

If you’re not familiar with the show, it’s totally worth the binge to get caught up. But just in case, here’s a recap of where we are in Season 3 so you at least have SOME idea of what’s going on!

Now that we’re all on the same page, I’ll admit… there are some things that I’d like to see happen this season.

Predication 1: Tommy and Ghost squash their beef and team up.

With Ghost/Jamie/James out of the drug game and trying to be legit (meaning relinquishing his drug empire to Tommy and solely getting income from his nightclubs), Kingpin Lobos wants Ghost dead. He’s ordered Tommy to kill Ghost and we all know that’s not happening. They’re practically brothers from different mothers. I predict that it will take most of the season for this to happen, but the only way that Season 4 &5 will be worth watching is if both survive and team up. Besides, not only do they have the issue with Lobos; there’s Kanan to consider.

Prediction 2: Tommy and Ghost will kill Lobos.
Once Tommy and Ghost get their #squadgoals hashed out, they’ll have no choice but to take out Lobos together. It will prove difficult with Lobos being in jail and prosecuted as a John Doe-but between Ghost’s crooked lawyer, Angela not being able to keep her mouth closed, and Angela’s “dirty cop” boss someone is bound to let it slip and they’ll find out where Lobos is. Speaking of someone letting it slip…

Prediction 3: Angela will be the one to get Lobos killed.
Now that I think about it, it’ll be Angela. For some reason that girl gets real loose lipped whenever Jamie/Ghost’s *ahem* eggplant is in the vicinity. She trusts that her Jamie is “clean” (mistake #1) and therefore practically throws up information regarding her cases (mistake #2) to him.

Prediction 4: Holly has got to go.
As much as Holly claims to love Tommy, something is terribly off about her. She is constantly doing opposite of what Tommy asks AND will practically do anything for money. She’s also a little too eager to be in control of the finances of Tommy’s (flailing) drug empire. Considering that she knows NOTHING about anything, it’s peculiar the lengths she’s going to- including stealing Tommy’s buyout check from Ghost, asking Tasha to help her learn the ropes of accounting and pushing Tommy to kill Ghost. Some think Holly is a narc. I don’t think so… I believe it has something to do with her backstory that we don’t know much about. I predict she either disappears or dies this season. Maybe Lobos will kill her and that will be the driving force between Ghost and Tommy’s relationship rekindling.

Prediction 5: Angela and Ghost will break up.

I stand behind this prediction. On the last episode “Jamie” had his (and Tasha’s) three children over for a night. In her one bedroom apartment. Girlfriend looked like a deer caught in headlights. It reminded me of the 80/20 rule from “Why Did I Get Married”. Everyone looks good when you’re having an affair and don’t have to be bothered with things real couples have to deal with… no bills, no kids, no bull. Just sex and happiness, love and infatuation. But the moment you start living REAL life with them…you learn quickly the grass isn’t greener. Angela went from a single woman with an incredible career and a FOINE man who was showering her with attention… to an instant weekend Mom of 3 kids, one of whom is a toddler and potty training (HELLO, potty training is one of the worst parts of parenting).

Once Angela realizes that her Jamie isn’t completely out of the game AND real life starts to invade her fantasy of life as Jamie’s wife… she’ll come to her senses. She’ll need to get out of that relationship…but I’m wondering if she’ll come to this conclusion before or after her career is DONE.

Here’s a sneak peek at Episode 3 premiering Sunday, July 31st at 9pm on Starz.
