Wow, so unlike a certain #rapist #swimmer from #Stanford University, who got a slap on the wrist for a deliberate heinous criminal act, with witnesses to his intentional malice and indifference to human suffering, our Miss #Maria has been #suspended from playing #tennis for two whole years for violating a banned drug policy through, let's say, #laziness.
The International Tennis Federation, or #ITF, pressed for a FOUR year suspension (which its the maximum).
The judgment from the independent tribunal appointed by the ITF, as it stands:
“The contravention of the antidoping rules was not intentional as Ms. Sharapova did not appreciate that Mildronate contained a substance prohibited from 1 January 2016. However, she does bear sole responsibility for the contravention, and very significant fault, in failing to take any steps to check whether the continued use of this medicine was permissible.”
So there won't be any of these scenarios for Miss Maria #Sharapova, at least not in a tennis outfit. She's always got her line of chocolates and um, what else?
We'll have to see what the fall-out is from this ruling...goodbye sponsors? Probably!
