Shopper's delight 2004
Shanghai Tang is a #destination for me at Pedder Building in Central #HongKong. This #upscale #Chinese luxe goods boutique offers silk , cashmere and velvet clothes and pajamas; hand-embroidered, bejewelled handbags; accessories for the home, umbrellas, etc.
The store itself is a delight to the senses with authentic #Shanghainese #decor that transports one back in time. The #elegant #clothes and with modern touches intermixed with traditional Chinese elements are wonderful to see and feel. Tea is offered at the parlour on the main floor where women's clothes are featured. In the back beyond the parlour, you can choose your own #fabric and an 'imperial' tailor will craft your made-to-measure top, cheongsam or slacks using the best #Chinese way of #tailoring the Shanghainese are famous for. Downstairs are #menswear, children's wear, luxe robes, #household and #gift items plus #sleepwear. The matching silk pajama sets are just divine. Shanghai Tang has branches in #NewYork, #London, #Paris, #Tokyo and of course, #Shanghai.
I had to restrain myself since the prices are quite steep. I managed to score a very nice rust jacket with black thread embroidery and black silken sleeves. I feel like a modern empress when I pair it with my Shanghai Tang denim jeans!
Can't get enough of Shanghai Tang

Cons: your modern #urban jungle since the buildings are huge and tall
In a nutshell: a bustling #city with convenient, fast transportation around the city and to/from the airport
