Another truly life changing revelation I had after reading Why Not Me?, came from the chapter addressing her body and eating and insecurities. She put body image and dieting into a perspective that I had never heard before. After disclosing all of her failed attempts at dieting, which includes a juice diet that ultimately ended one day at lunch time when one of her writers was about to throw away his friends fries, she states that it takes a lot of time for her to lose weight, and her time is spent elsewhere. She writes and stars in a television show, she doesn't have the time to focus on exactly what she's eating and putting the effort into the mental self control or the meal prep. “The truth is, if I were going to lose weight successfully, I would have to think about what I eat constantly.” I felt extremely empowered from that way of looking at dieting. For me, losing weight takes an enormous amount of effort as well. I like to eat. But I'm busy, and it's okay. I think we oftentimes forget that models get paid to look that way. Part of their job is working out.

“I can’t for the life of me not eat something that I want to eat.”
“For lunch I usually have something hearty like a burger or tacos. I have always believed lunch should be the biggest meal of the day. People who say breakfast should be the biggest meal are insane. You can’t have dessert at breakfast.”
