They need you

All you have to do is turn on the TV for a short amount of time to see ads about all the homeless dogs and cats in this country. Did you know there are also a large number of homeless rabbits?

Unfortunately, many people don't know what they're getting into with a rabbit. Around Easter, people will impulse buy baby bunnies for children, not realizing that they grow up to be quite a bit bigger and have very real needs, just like dogs and cats. People who don't know any better will then give up on the rabbit, and either dump him or her at a local shelter, or do a thing that should happen to no domestic animal and simply dump him or her in the street.

Rabbits are completely awesome and I wouldn't trade living with them for the world. But before you invite a rabbit into your home, it's best to learn what's involved. The same goes for any pet you are thinking of taking home. It's a bit of a cliché, but while you may have a world outside your pet, you are the world to them. That's worth remembering.
