Acropolis, Athens, Greece

Perhaps one of the best known ancient sites of the western world is the Acropolis, located in Athens. Built over two thousand years ago, it has become – and remains today – as the symbol for the city. Located high up, it is visible from everywhere in the city. A place of worship, the most famous bank in history, a cultural symbol, the Acropolis is an impressive sight to behold no matter how far or near you are. In the daylight it glistens and gleams, whilst at night it is lit up by spotlights, illuminating it’s history and importance for all to see.
