This is the beach of La Luz in Hugom.
My dad's town
Went for a #family gathering in San Juan, Batangas.
San Juan, Batangas is about 180 kilometers south of #Manila. It is the easternmost town of Batangas, next to #Quezon province. It is on the coast thus there are many stretches of sandy #beach to be enjoyed. One of them is La Luz in Hugom, about 25 minutes drive from the town proper of San Juan, named after a saint of course.
Cabanas are so cool they're hot!
I love these cabanas by the beach at La Luz. They are great for #hot days and #cool #evenings. You can even have your #massage there! These ones at La Luz have speakers and lights too with on/off switches.
My niece having fun with the big boys.
Native dining hall where fresh food is served three times a day.
The waters of this area is great for #snorkeling.
The next resort can be seen from La Luz. We stayed there when we went back in 2013.
#Gypset in la Luz.
Bahay kubo - native house on stilts
When I was growing up there was this #song my nanny Yolly sang to me all the time about bahay kubo surrounded by a #vegetable #garden. This one doesn't have the lush garden but it sure is neat!
Pros: good #snorkelling spot, nice beach, good food, price is reasonable, friendly staff
Cons: no divemaster (for my sis) part of the road is unpaved
In a nutshell: a good beach #destination accessible by land from Manila
