Update: I received my scores on the Oral Proficiency Interview a few days ago (it's September now, 2015) and I got Intermediate Mid! Adam Sichta told us that we exceeded the State Department's standards 15/15 and it's the best any Russian group has done so far. I'm so proud of all of us.
It's funny how ones conception of home can change so drastically and so clearly in only six weeks. Wandering alone in the airport yesterday I have never felt so lost-- stuck between my still fresh memories of Russia, this beautiful and diverse country, and the imminent destination: a home I had grown up in for 18 years. I miss Russia and the other exchange students a lot, and I know this amazing experience will bear heavily in my thoughts for weeks and years to come. But I can't let myself descend into bittersweet sadness. I spent all of today dorm shopping and preparing for college in a few weeks. Everything is moving so fast... But hey, that's life for ya. Here's to future travels and adventures! ?
