Part 6 - On December 31st, my boyfriend dropped me off at the bus station and stuffed three 500-peso notes into my hand. I bought a ticket on the luxury ETN line and climbed to my seat at the top of a double-decker bus with seats that are larger and more comfortable than those on a first-class flight. A four-hour nap later, I was riding in a taxi toward Mexico City’s tony La Condesa neighborhood, where our host rents an apartment. The taxi driver got lost and stopped to ask a police officer for directions, which was fine with me because in Mexico we don't worry about being late. The girls were cooking dinner when I arrived, and when I wheeled my overnight bag to the guest room, I surmised that two of us were to share a “matrimonial” size bed. Girl-time ensued as we ate, drank wine and talked about old boyfriends, then got dressed, each of us advising the other on makeup and accessories en español. #Mexico #binders #2016
