Transit Elevated Bus, the big people mover

Buses are basically just giant trucks specifically built to move people around. In traffic. Or, in this case, literally above the traffic, in a new space all their own.

The Transit Elevated Bus is a Chinese design that has recently been rolled out in the real world for its first tests. It is designed to carry up to 1 ,200 people in its elevated carriage, suspended above the regular road and leaving the road unobstructed so other drivers may pass underneath.

The buses can carry their passengers at speeds of up to 60km/h (27mph) and are designed for use primarily in the city, where limited road space must be shared by as many people as possible. Although these buses are currently only serving one line in Beijing, China intends to deploy them across the country, in every city where road congestion is really bad.
