So how do you follow playing the piano blindfolded?😅 Well, in this video the goal is to create an eerie, ghostly ‘gust of wind’ effect on the piano!💨👻🎃 🔈🎶- Chopin Sonata No.2 (Finale) Rumor has it that this part is supposed to illustrate the sound of the wind sweeping through a graveyard...⚰️💀🌬 Keep in mind that the piano is technically a percussive instrument, so the challenge is to create a sound that’s smooth and flowy, yet precise and clear at the same time! 💪🏼🖐🏼
Ok this was a dare 😅: Can ‘La Campanella’ be played blindfolded ??? 😵 So let’s crank up the heat ... 🔥😈 Naturally, I chose the spot with the trickiest jumps ... 🙆🏻😂 Actually, in the process I’ve discovered that it could be an effective practice exercise, because after you’ve played blindfolded, playing the regular way feels like a breeze (almost 😉).
My favorite part of Rach 3! 👑 This is widely considered the most challenging piano concerto that's ever been written. Many call it the Mount Everest 🏔🏆for any pianist as it requires solid mastery of the instrument in every way! 🎹🥇 Fun fact: there are approximately 29 035 notes in it ☠️⚰️😵(29 656 if you play ossia cadenza 🚬😑... )
Watched the movie 'Ray' and was moved by @iamjamiefoxx masterful portrayal of Ray Charles and had to record this jazz improv to one of my favorite songs - Hit the Road Jack. Even though I am a classical musician I've always been curious about other genres of music/pop culture and often times things that seem to be from the opposite spectrum fascinate me the most.🎺🎹🎷🎬🎶
There are endless things you can do when it comes to piano exercises and warm-ups. 🎹 I always like to customize traditional methods💡to fit my needs and to add a little variety and/or twist here and there. 1️⃣I am doing C major/A minor arpeggio in the right hand and a descending pattern in the left hand to improve coordination. 2️⃣ is A minor melodic scale (with a third thrown on top on the way back). And finally 3️⃣ is just a pattern I came up with that uses black and white keys going up the registers and back. Again this helps with dexterity and strengthening. 👋🏼💪🏼
A little different video today: Lately, I was in my studio listening to all kinds of music for some inspiration, and rediscovered this song again. The piano improv was a total spur of the moment as I just played along to the song ... I think this record is so incredible in many ways, not the most popular one by Amy, but certainly among my favorites. I think @iammarkronson is one of the most talented producers out there today and he really brought the whole album to life and made Amy's vocals shine. 🔉🎶Amy Winehouse - Love is a Losing Game 💔
