Teen goalie wakes from coma speaking Spanish
Reuben Nsemoh lives for ⚽️soccer, seriously! He's been playing for a very prestigious club in Gwinnett County, just outside Atlanta, Georgia. His passion for the game is so great that it almost killed him.
This time his head injury was his third major concussion, and it put him in a coma. He dove for a ball...and it wasn't pretty. He had seizures, stopped breathing for a bit. It was really touch and go. He's definitely lucky to be alive.
But a very strange and wonderful thing happened while Reuben was in the hospital...he woke up speaking fluent Spanish, and had no recall of his native English!
Yes people, it's amazing! This young man did not grow up speaking Spanish, nor did he study it in school. Omg! He's been hounded by the press for an explanation, and all he can think of is that he's been exposed to the language through his friendships. Now as he's slowly recovering, he's losing his fluency.
Now, if you're feeling kindly or you're a football/soccer fan, and you might like to help contribute toward Reuben's monster medical bills, check this article for mention of a donations link.
