If restaurant food is judged by Michelin stars and Top 10, or for that matter, Top 50 rankings, can drink be far behind? And drink means, of course, the beverage of the heady kind, available in bars.
The World’s 50 Best Bars, compiled by William Reed Business Media, announced its Top 50 list on Oct. 3. London and New York lead the list with 10 and 6 bars, respectively, on the Top 50 list, according to a CNN story.
“But the cross-Atlantic dominance could face stiffer challenges in coming years. This year's third place award to Singapore's chic and regal Manhattan is the latest harbinger of a potentially world-beating cocktail scene in the Asian city state,” according to the story.
Singapore boasts five bars on the Top 50 list.
London is unrivalled, though. The world’s best bar, according to the World’s 50 Best Bars list, is Dandelyan, a stylish hotel bar on the south bank of the Thames. Incidentally, the bar is going to be shut next year. Situated on the ground floor of the fashionable Mondrian London Hotel, the bar serves signature botanic drinks.
