#1) 'Better Strange' by James Supercave

Last year, choosing my #1 rock album of the year was easy. This year was a little tougher because Car Seat Headrest's Teens of Denial is a phenonimal album.

But so is Better Strange.

In my Nada Surf commentary, I said it's very difficult for a band to do complex, and to do it well. Most bands don't succeed when they try to incorporate tons of ideas and musical styles into one album. James Supercave hit a grand slam in that regard.

Better Strange is truly a work of art, and it's a ton of fun.
