It may have been a long Independence Day weekend in the US. But in the UK, thousands of protesters converged in London to protest the #Brexit independence they didn't want.

As Dezeen reports, British architects and designers are among some of the hardest hit with the fallout of the 23 June 2016 referendum.

By the numbers, 51.9 percent of British voters voted to leave the EU, while 48.9 percent voted to remain. Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to remain, as did the city of London.

Organizers of the event claim attendance of 50,000, while the Metropolitan Police believe the real number to be closer to 30,000. Either way, those aren't exactly small numbers.
