Though there are many gems in Henry David Thoreau’s famous essay “Civil Disobedience” in 1849, my favorite line is: "That government is best which governs least." Today, our government has enacted so many laws that it's hard to know them, much less follow them all. And some laws, it seems, are not to the peoples' benefit.
