"I was invited to be a writer-in-residence in Beijing. I was given a plush room and my task was to write a short story inspired by my stay. When I arrived Beijing was cold and grainy; the famous smog had lowered and everyone was wearing masks. It was barely light for most of the day. I had senseless dreams in the biggest bed in the world."
