Storm zone players get a bad suggestion from Pokémon Go
Parts of the United States are under curfew due to a deadly hurricane (Irma, you might have heard about it), but Pokémon Go wants you out in the parks.
Thanks for this combination of mobile alerts next to a Pokémon push notification by ReturnTheHunter on Twitter, who adds, "Pokémon Go trying to murder people." 😱
More likely Pokémon Go doesn't know which region you are, or doesn't send these notifications by region. These are new notifications. On Reddit recently, players discussed the new mobile notifications that aim to encourage gameplay for both daily users and people who haven't played in a while. One Reddit poster named Endert said, "Someone's desperate I guess."
We're hoping Pokémon Go players in active storm zones or other environmental dangers ignore notifications encouraging you to play until the danger has passed.
Stay safe and alert folks, you can catch 'em all another day.
