A woman who assaulted a bus driver after she missed her stop was partly responsible for a crash in southwestern China that killed all 15 people on board, an investigation by Chinese authorities revealed Friday.

A 10-second clip from the on-board camera released by Chongqing police showed a female passenger shouting at the male driver while he was steering, shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday, according to CNN.

The 48-year-old woman then attacked him with her mobile phone while he struggled with her with his right arm.

When she struck him again, he abruptly turned the steering wheel left, swerving into oncoming traffic and crashing into the railing of a bridge. Screaming can be heard near the end of the video.

The release of the clip resolves the mystery surrounding the cause of the deadly crash, which has gripped China’s attention, as extensive television coverage of a massive search-and-recovery effort ensued.

For several days after the accident, the No. 22 bus lay at the bottom of the Yangtze River – in waters more than 70 meters (230 feet) deep.

Dashboard camera footage from another car nearby, released earlier, had shown the bus veer to the wrong side of the road without warning before hitting the railing of the Wanzhou Yangtze No. 2 Bridge and falling into the river.
