My Battle Against Depression
I’m struggling to decide where to actually start with. My chest gets heavier and I start shivering when I think of that phase of my life.
Dealing with a deadly feeling called depression was an everyday struggle for me. Some days were truly worse than others. Luckily, I was completely aware of what was going on. The relationship between my mind and body was not in harmony. And as we all know that awareness is the key to prevention so I don’t want anyone else to feel the same way.
I have battled with depression for a long time. Everybody has a bad phase in their life but depression can make it even worse. I used to spend days on bed in one position unwilling to get up. Depression is a debilitating disease that it physically disables the person.
I wanted to escape but wasn’t able to find any way. The first big step in my life was when I realized that I was mentally unwell. I used to tell myself initially that I am socially inactive just because I’m introvert. But it all became too much after a point of time.
Finally, someone suggested for a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It helped me understand the cause of my depression. As soon as I changed for depression and I understood my depression, it no longer had an uncontrollable impact on my daily life. CBT changed my life and as a result I’m a completely changed person now.
