Kim Davis was a city clerk who denied a gay couple marriage licence because of her faith. Gay marriage was legal in her city but she argued on the ground of religious liberty that she has right to refuse giving a marriage licence to gay couples.

I am all for religious liberty. I supported Christian bakers' right not to bake a cake for gay weddings for example. But Kim Davis was a government employee. Shw wasn't a private citizen. Therefore, she has no right to refuse marriage licence to a gay couple.
