I’m Rudolf and I have seen the present world get consumed by this vice known as social media. I’ve seen my friends being occupied by social media throughout the day. I’ll see them on every major social media platform including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, and more. Instead of enjoying their teenage years and spending their energy in productive works or playing outside, they are busy in their rooms worrying about who gets more likes and who gets more views on their posts.
There was a time when I used to be the same. When I got a new phone as my 15th birthday gift and I discovered there is something called social media. I created profiles on Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook and a few others. I absolutely fell in love with them with Facebook being my favorite.
I was so hooked that I used to spend the majority of my day on Facebook playing games and chatting. Within a few months or so, I realized how my energy levels were decreasing, how I was becoming restless, my patience had decreased as I wasn’t able to wait for replies, and my body was becoming weaker as I would spend hours sitting in the same position.
Anyway, I decided to quit it after 6 months on Facebook. I still believe this was the best decision I ever made. I immediately began noticing that I had more time for myself, my productivity increased, I had more energy, my thinking process had improved, and I also started practicing yoga to improve my patience and concentration levels.
